The Neighbors: The Glaseah
Say glah-SAY-ah.

What has four feet, two arms, bat-like wings, a tail, feathered ears and little drive to reproduce? It sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it is, in fact the reality that is the Glaseah: short centauroid creatures with skunk-like striping. They were born of careful creation by the first generation Pelted of the Alliance to keep the Pelted company, and their scientists did a modestly good job.

They just forgot to put in a breeding instinct.

The Glaseah aren't extinct because of a sense of duty and a society that makes it easy for people to have children without having the traditional family life associated with them. They have a down-to-earth nature that suits their short stature--generally under 5 feet tall--and that somehow doesn't clash with their ability to sense emotions and read thoughts. Indeed, the Glaseah are the only Pelted species with consistent enough esper abilities to do away with language altogether . . . a fortunate thing, given how difficult their language is to produce. It's a running joke that Glaseahn tongue sounds nothing like the species' name itself, a name created by the scientists who made them.

That the Glaseah are so stolid, so earthy and so practical makes them a perfect foil for the only other consistently esper-endowed race in the Alliance, the enigmatic Eldritch. Is it any surprise, then, that the Glaseah and the Eldritch have produced the most fascinating odd couple the Alliance has seen in Vasiht'h and Jahir?
