The long and elegant and ponderous Tsipia learned early in the life of their species that they were at the mercy of the world around them. Fierce hurricanes, even larger than those that beleaguer Earth, lashed their mostly water-bound planet, driving them into caves to hide. When one of their number happened onto a gate off-world, long abandoned by people no longer available to maintain it, the species fled, changing their names from the Tsipia-seekers to the Tsipia-aliens . . . for "tsipia" is the peace they sought in the midst of trouble and suffering, and they soon realized that their new world was not hospitable to the nurturing of this vital quality. It is as Tsipia-aliens that they meet humanity.
Not much is written about the Tsipia yet, but I enjoy time in their company and look forward to learning more about them, both as Seekers and as Aliens.
