I keep my hair short or long depending on whether I feel like I should. I'm growing it long at the moment, ostensibly as a last hurrah before I get old enough to look creepy like that.

Fascinating! I think my last salon cut was, some years ago, in preparation for an event at which I wished to look my very best. And cutting off the ends ... made it impossible to put my hair up the way I had been doing; I was most displeased.
